The Art of Intuition

Lately I've been reading Sophy Burnham's The Art of Intuition: Cultivating Your Inner Wisdom.

It's quite a good read if you're at all interested in intuition, psychic abilities and such. One of the things I really liked about the book is Ms. Burnham's honesty about the whole world of psychic abilities and her own journey. She's not someone who claims to have all the answers. She's interested in the journey. She tells us that she wasn't a true believer from the start and actually describes herself as laughing at readings she received in her youth, though they later turned out to be accurate. She talks about the experiences she has had and how, slowly, she entered this world of extra sensory information.

The book gives exercises and advice on how to cultivate your own abilities, but mostly it's a fascinating journey with a warm and loving guide. It's a book that encourages us to fully embrace what it means to be human, even if we don't really understand it fully, to love our lives and each other and walk through this world with compassion and eyes wide open.
